ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
POSITION SUMMARY
4WardWA Development West Africa (4WardWA) provides high-quality water services through kiosks, Pump Insurance (PiN), household and business connections, and packaged water services for wholesale, retail, and individual consumption.
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Electrical Technician will provide electrical engineering support and handle installation, general maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment as well as designing of solar and electrical systems as defined by the Operations Manager in accordance with 4Ward guidelines and policies.
S/he will lead electrical works and provide guidance to other staff designated to assist with solar and electric installations as well as inspection and evaluation of electrical/electronic systems on pumps, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, electrical equipment, and all forms of controls.
S/he will be required to ensure installation works conform to 4Ward Development standards and support the Operations Supervisor in ongoing and new projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the assembling, installation, testing, and maintenance of all electrical equipment/ electronic appliances particularly 4ward designed electrical box components in kiosks systems and pump stations.
Inspects and rectifies faults circuit breakers and other electrical components in the electric box during routine maintenance.
Designing and assembling solar panel systems in accordance with safety codes and standards.
In charge of onsite wiring, monitoring, and mounting of the solar energy.
Perform routine PV system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment.
Experience in safely handling tools and materials including, but not limited to inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, electrical equipment preferred.
Undertake regular or periodic inspection, testing and servicing of various electrical equipment in the water kiosk and at the various pump stations.
Maintain records of jobs performed and report to supervisors.
Understand and promote general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.
Assist other team members as needed.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education***
Minimum qualification of BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering or any other related field. Electrical Wiring Professionals Certification (CEWPs) is a plus.
At least 2 years of experience in Solar Energy/Photovoltaic systems or Lower education can apply but must have over ten (10) years of working experience with Electrical works and be certified by the Ghana Energy Commission can equally apply.
REPORTING
The Electrical Technician will report to the Operations Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment - Office – Standard Office Environment; Must live in Daboase, Takoradi, and surrounding areas.
Physical Demands - Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day. The total working hours in a week is 40 hours. Should work be done during evenings and weekends, the SDO will be compensated with an equal amount of time off.
Travel Requirements: Some travel is required for this role.
